Purchases may be made directly from the site and paid by credit card or Paypal balance or, by request, by Bank Transfer. Buyers living in the UK may also pay by cheque or postal order (see below for further details about cheque or postal order payments)
Payment Security. Payment may be made using a credit card or PayPal account. Payment by credit card is done via PayPal; when the Shopping Cart or invoice takes you to Paypal,
just follow their instructions for using your credit card there.
PayPal allows you to use your credit card safely and securely online, as they provide a very secure system and they reveal absolutely none of your credit card details to me or any other sellers.
Many well known stores now accept Paypal for online purchases, including Harrods, Schuh, Boots and BHS
With PayPal, you can pay with your PayPal balance or using...
Mail order only. No collections or visits. Wafuku is an online store only and offers mail order only. It is run from my home, so customers cannot visit to view, try on or collect items. My stock is all packed in large boxes and not on display or on shelves for customers to see in a shop setting. Please do not request pick up or visits, as I will have to decline your request
To purchase an item, just click the Add To Cart button on the item's detail page.
The list of items you have in your Shopping Cart will show in the panel on the right of the main site pages, where there will also be a link to take you to your Shopping Cart.
If you have selected one of the few items I have more than one of, you will be able to choose the quantity on the cart page. You can also remove items from the Shopping Cart.
On the Shopping Cart page, select the Shipping region for your delivery address (Choose from UK, EU (mainland Europe & Eire) or US (for US and Rest of the World), then the correct shipping/postage
cost will be filled in.
All orders to be sent to addresses outside UK must include the additional purchase of mail insurance, available on the Mail Insurance page. Insurance is per parcel, each parcel must be under 2 kilos, purchases of multiple items can be sent in one package only if they total less than 2 kilos including packaging. Sometimes the combined size of the items may also require them to be sent in multiple packages. If in doubt, contact me to check total weight when buying multiple items. If you have paid for multiple items plus only one parcel's insurance but it is necessary for the items to be sent in more than one package, it is possible & necessary to add more insurance as a separate purchase.
For example, two haori or one kimono and one haori usually add up to less than 2 kilos. The garment's weight is often mentioned in its details. A few kimonos are extra heavy but most can be combined with something like a haori or one of the lighter obis plus the packaging without reaching 2 kilos. Because mail insurance is per parcel and not necessarily per item, I do not add it to the overseas item price, as only one insurance fee is often all that is needed to insure more than one item.
Please do not request that items be sent before payment has cleared. I have done that in the past, trusting the buyers to be honest, and ended up taking two of those buyers to the small claims court when one cancelled their pending Paypal payment on receiving the items and another paid via Paypal, using a credit card, then got their credit card company to withdraw the payment once the goods arrived. In both cases they did it purely to get the items free, not because of any problems with them, and the court decided in my favour and made them pay for the items plus all court costs. It was not something I enjoyed doing, so I no longer risk sending before payment has cleared and do not let such actions slide.
For UK buyers wishing to pay by cheque or postal order or anyone wishing to pay by bank transfer, you can email your order, giving the item's code (e.g. wk120) and your delivery address, instead of buying via the Shopping Cart. Cheques must clear my bank before the item is mailed. Email the item's code (e.g #wk4) and your
delivery address and I will send you an invoice. Cheques payable to C. Oldham. Buyers living outside UK must pay via Paypal, as I cannot accept other international payment methods. All payments must be made in UK GBP (£); make sure UK GBP is selected in Paypal when making a payment
If buying multiple items, you may request combined shipping/postage. I can combine items in one package, to save a bit on postage costs, as long as it weighs under 2 kilos, including packaging. For combined shipping,
send your order by email, instead of purchasing via the site's shopping cart, as the cart cannot calculate total weight and reduce postage costs. Send the codes (e.g #wk4) of the items you want to buy, along with your delivery address,
and I will then send you an invoice, via which you can make your payment at Paypal or by one of the other methods mentioned above. Be sure to remember to include your address, so I know whether to put UK, EU or US/Rest of World shipping on your invoice.
Note: If emailing, check your email's Bulk or Spam folder if you don't see my reply. The 'fuku' part of the name often gets it mistaken for spam and filtered into those folders
ceri@wafuku.co.uk
If your computer's email program is not set to automatically send emails, remember it will just have put your email into your Outbox folder, waiting for you to send it
Currency conversion by XE.com will allow you to check prices in all currencies; please note, the conversion will be
approximate, as it depends on what exchange rate Paypal is offering at the time of purchase, but it provides a very good guide. Just type in the price on the xe.com page, select 'from' United
Kingdom Pounds GBP and select 'to' your currency, then click 'Go'.
Additional Information
One must bear in mind that most are vintage items, which I strive to describe accurately and honestly. A very few smell of mothballs or a touch of vintage mustiness, most do not. I usually mention it in the listing if one does but one must bear it in mind as a possibility when buying vintage and antique items.
Please be aware that different monitors display colour slightly differently, so colour in photos is purely a guideline, as I can't foresee how your monitor will display it. While I try to describe colour sometimes, a description often conjours up one colour to one person but may suggest a different colour to another, so, again, colour description is just a guide to colour.
Therefore I do not accept returns or exchanges due to colour, taste, mothball/vintage smell or fit (which can be judged by measurements given).
Feel free to ask any questions about delivery or about items on my site.
