- Extending kimono hanger (emon kake) with obi bar. Extends to 124cm.
- Obi bar folds up and the telescopic ends push in. Put kimono on it with ends pushed in, put arm through sleeve of kimono and pull extensions to the sleeve end, to hold sleeves up.
- Hangs a kimono with arms out, so gravity and fabric weight don't put a stress on the hand stitched sleeve seams.
- Comes in a box.
- Kimono and haori should be stored folded but hang yourkimono for a few hours prior to wearing it, to allow fold line creases to loosen out, and after wearing it is best practice to dust off your kimono and air it overnight on a hanger like this to get rid of moisture. If kimono are stored for longer periods of time it is also good practice to air them once in a while overnight out of direct sunlight. These hangers are good too if you wish to gently steam your kimono prior to wearing it. If you do steam it, do a test inside first and ensure it has been allowed to hang a day or two after steaming, to ensure it is completely dry before folding and storing.
- Japanese garments should be hung out to air at least 4 times per year, if not worn frequently, just as the Japanese do. Hang your garment to air when you receive it too, as it will have been stored for a while.
- I have found these very difficult to get and unfortunately very expensive too, especially by the time I paid Customs fees. These may be the last I ever get.
- Plastic.
- **NOTE** - although not heavy, postage is high because the length. May be sent via Evri or other courier, as the post office charges a ridiculous amount for a package of this length.
