- Made and bought in Japan
- Complete with silk himo (front ties), usually bought separately
- You can wear lined haoris inside out, as they are so exquisitely made that all the seams are hidden both inside and out, and this lining would look fabulous worn on the outside.
- Hitotsu mon. The mon is fuji (wisteria). Garments with mon (crests) are divided into three types: itsutsu-mon (5 mon), mitsu-mon (3 mon) and hitotsu-mon (1 mon). The more mon it has, the more formal it is
- May have shitsuke (large, loose, white stitches) around the edges. The Japanese put these in to keep the edges neat during storage; they just get pulled out before wearing

Glinting Urushi Mountains Haori
Japanese haori; a long kimono jacket, with swinging kimono sleeves. Traditionally worn loose over kimono and obi, fastened with a front tie (haori himo) on centre front edge, but also lovely worn with contemporary clothing, such as jeans, skirts and dresses, either worn loose or cinched in with a belt or sash. So beautifully made, with hidden raw edges, that they can even be worn inside out, with the often beautifully decorative upper lining on show.
Much more haori infornation can be found in the Kimono Information section of the website (page 13, "Haori Kimono Jackets - Japan's Secret Treasure"). Worth a read it prior to puchase.
